THE EARLY DAYS
The Mayes County Free Fair celebrated its 100 birthday in 2016. Although cows, sheep, goats and chickens are a big draw, the Mayes County Fair is about art: the art of home making – canning, preserving, flower arrangement, sewing and designing. Arts and crafts, traditional art and photography all take large and growing positions in the fair.
